Communicate 2.1.1 Identify Stakeholders Quest

I do tend to agree with the descriptions of the main issues for which preparation is necessary for online environments.  In my opinion, the first issue to be tackled is the development of” balance” between the new products and the established systems. Another important catalyst for successful change is the positive attitude toward change embraced by those in leader ship roles who ‘understand the needs of the broad group of stakeholders” (Anderson, 2008).  Constant internal communication will be an important part of this change, as all stakeholders will need to be involved in all developments.  Testing and evaluating will be factors and results “should be shared widely throughout the community” (Anderson, 2008).
Internal issues that need to be addressed as a new infrastructure is being developed will continue to include the same curriculum goals, learning requirements of the students, and a “committed staff” who is not afraid of change.
According to Anderson, “evidence suggests that computer-mediated teaming interaction may in fact be deeper, long-term, and thus exceed those in face-to-face environments” (Anderson, 2008).  As development of an online learning program emerges, it is highly recommended that team development learning is implemented into this process in order to create a complete learning experience for the student.  Swan’s research study implications suggest that “online discussion may be more supportive of experimentation, divergent thinking, exploration of multiple perspectives, complex understanding & reflection than F2F discussion” (Swan, 2004).  To support this research, Swan suggests that faculty encourage conflicting ideas, multiple perspectives, using stimulating open-ended questions.  In addition teachers would need to develop activities that “encourage the development of swift trust” (Swan, 2004) as they model and encourage throughout the new process of learning.
Communication, structure, alerts, explanations, evaluation processes, expectations, authentic learning experiences, rules and security issues should be open and accessible at all times for stakeholders and communication lines should be encouraged between all parties.
