Communicate 2.1.3 Ongoing Communication Quest

Communication of some form is present in nearly every aspect of online learning.  It is important that we report and discuss the progress of our students with parents, administrators, and other teachers that might be involved in the learning process.  It is necessary to collect data from parents or guardians and if there are special upcoming events, like major tests or study sessions.  Often we need to send permission forms or Acceptable Use Policies that require signatures.  Communication is extremely important when keeping parents informed about upcoming schedules and activities.  Creating a Class Page, Class Wiki or Class website is helpful so stakeholders can view the announcements and see important information and holding live sessions will enable more collaboration which is an important form of communication in the online environment.  Below is an example of a reminder that I posted on our class page of the upcoming CRCT Exam.  It was dated 4/21 - 4/27 and was simply a reminder of what was to happen the following week.
